A Good Chuckle for the Day... read on :))

On the previous post, I shared my birthday card for my bestie, Lena...  well, thank goodness she is not a computer gal, (she has no clue except to play games), because I posted the wrong card. hahahahahaha  :0  The card I posted was sold at the Scrapbook Retreat I was at while making it and another friend bought it.  So now, I will show you the card I really made just for her.  And yes, it had a hummie on it too!!

So Happy Birthday Lena!!

I will say that her granddaughter, Julia, will show her both cards and I will get a phone call and we will have a good laugh.  Growing old is so much fun!!

Until next time,
Take care and God Bless

Happy Birthday Lena

This card is made for my very bestie friend, Lena, in Slidell, La., who is having a birthday this coming Sunday, Feb. 23rd.  We have been very close friends for so many years, she is like a sister, and I moved to Alabama 15 years ago, I visited her often until the past couple of years, just a long drive and age slows you down... lol , but we can call one another and it's like we have seen each other just yesterday.  We pick up just where we left off.   That is what I call a true friend.  I am so blessed. One of her most favorite things to do is feed the hummingbirds, so I thought this card would be special to her.   With that little part of our story told, here is her card.

So to my friend, I hope you have an awesome birthday and many, many more to come.
Sending my love.

Let's Rock and Roll

Hi my friends, I am back from a great Scrappin' Retreat from woods in Alabama!  :)  We had no phone, Internet when it was in the mood, 3 great meals a day and scrapped in my PJ's along with 21 other ladies.  It was AWESOME!!!   So I got to do a little card making that I needed to get done.   This card is really late in being posted.  I had colored the image and then I got down with the shoulder problem for a month and missed my post with "Challenges 4 Everybody".  So I decided to finish the card and get it posted  because I really think it's a cute image and I enjoyed making the card.  So lets get rockin'.

The image is from Sassy Studio Designs and she is Sock Hop Sweetie 2 and I think she is really ready to Rock and Roll !!!

I used Close To My Heart, Cruisin' , I cut the jukebox from a file I had on my computer, and punched some black and white circles to make the records.  I decided to do a side step card to show all the memorabilia from back in those days.

I hate to admit this, but I had a grey skirt that had a poodle on it!  Yep, pink blouse too and also had the blonde pony tail.  LOL   Whew!!!  that's a flash back for sure.  ;))

I hope you enjoyed your visit and if so, please leave a comment because you are my inspiration.

So until next time,
Take care and God Bless

Cameo

Here I am again with a new card for Inky Impression Challenge, Black and White.  This is another type of card that I make few of as I like lots of color, but I will say, I was satisfied after completing this one.  So here we go.... oh, but first glad to have you visit again and if you're new here have fun browsing around.   Okay, so now, lets get going!

This card was made while I was on a scrapbook retreat in the woods of Alabama, no phone, Internet when ever, but a very nice retreat area and this was my 3rd year going there.  There are 22 of us and we really had a blast!!

And we do not have to cook, our meals are prepared....  It's Camp Sumatanga, but I think they need to call it Camp Heaven.  : )

Back to the card, I die cut the center with a Spellbinders Lattice die,  the black edging with a border punch from Martha Stewart , and used a Stampin' Up sentiment and punch .  The image was from Silhouette and cut out with my Zing cutter and glued to a black and white oval.  The paper I used was from a 6x6 pack of Bo Bunny.

I did the closure a little differently, as you slide the cameo into the opening of the die cut center.  Just something a little different I thought.

Well, my friends, that is all the news I have for this post, but I will be back in a few to do more.  I was quite busy on my retreat and got to make some really neat cards that I need for some friends.

So now, it's your turn to get the mojo juices flowing and start making some creations for the Inky Impression Challenge!!   Come on and join in the fun and you could be a lucky winner.

Fluttering by just to say Hi !!

Hello friends, another great challenge for Through the Purple Haze and the theme is embossing, so here is my card.  First though, let me say thanks for visiting and I am so glad you're here.  Feel free to look around and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them in the comment section at the end.  Hope I get some good love comments!!  :)  Okay, so here we goooooo!!

I thought I would go with pastel Lavender, a relaxing color and thought the butterflies would be great for this color too,  Just makes for a soft looking or feeling card.
I used some Lavender and White cardstock, Recollection, from my stash.
I punched two edgings, one white and one lavender and made a shadow edging.  I used Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis Motifs die cut.
The embossing on the white cardstock was Sizzix Dots embossing folder.
The Lavender layer was embossed with Spellbinders M-Bossibilities EL-009 folder.
Butterflies, large and small,  from Silhouettes files, Butterfly Flourishes, were cut on my Klic-N-Kut cutter. (***  Love this cutter.  New update lets you talk to it to set cut speeds, force and lets you move the cutting blade to the position that you want. )  Hands free.. woo hoo.  :0  and it does sooooooo much more!!!
And finally the sentiment die cut is Spellbinders Timeless Rectangles die cut set.
I added a few pearls of different sizes here and there and that completed my card.

So Scrappers, get some of your embossing folders, powders, etc., and get embossing to get your card posted to join in the fun here at The Purple Haze Challenge # 29 and you could be the next winner at....

 My Mum's Craft Shop

Our generous sponsor is giving away 10£ gift certificate and that is $16.45 US money.... that's an awesome prize!!  Woot!! Woot!!

Okay, I am out of here for today to start with my next card for another post.  Whew!! staying so busy... love it.     And in two weeks I am heading to a Three Day Crop with 21 other scrappin' buds at a retreat place in the woods.  No phone service!!  yay!!!   Internet sometimes...  LOL  All meals included.... there's no where else to go in within miles..LOL
TOTAL RELAXATION to crop the weekend away!!

So until next time
Take care and God Bless

Too Cute - Feeling Better

Hi my Scrappin' friends, I am so glad you are back to visit and if you're new here,  please, feel free to look around and enjoy yourself.  I would love if you would leave me some comments at the end of the post.

Well, this is one sweet image.  If I was feeling bad she would surely make me feel great.  Such a cutie and she is one of the New Releases at Inky Impressions!!  But as they say on TV....  That's not all!!!   That's right, there's more new releases, go check them out!!

I was trying to decide what type of card to do, maybe something a little different, so I did a multi-fold card.

I started with a piece of cardstock 12 inches square.  I cut two 3 inch by 6 inch pieces from the top part from each side.  So you have a 6 inch middle section that folds down over the bottom part.  I scored 3 inches on each side of the bottom and folded that toward the center section and I scored 3 inches across the top section and folded it in half and it stands up making an easel center.  If you need any further info just give me a shout.

I used Spellbinders Label 26 to cut the image and the two mats.  I then adhered that to the center portion only gluing half the image and mats,  from the center downward, so that the top part would stand up.  The back mat (green) I embossed with Sizzix Dots embossing folder.

The cardstock is from my hoarder's stack :) and the patterned paper is from Recollections, "All Girl."  I cut those pieces (with the hearts) a quarter inch smaller that the mats.  I cut the checkered pattern paper, also from Recollections "All Girl" a quarter of in inch smaller also.  I had a heart punch and decided to sprinkle a few little hearts around.

The image was colored with my Copic Markers, but most importantly, it came from Inky Impressions and is a New Release and her name is "Olivia with Teddy" and I think she is one of the cutest images ever!!!  You can check out Olivia and more at:

Okay, my friends, now it's your turn to get your creation going and join the the Challenge at Inky Impressions and you could be the next winner of some awesome Inky Digis.

So my friends get Scrappin' to make it Happin' !!!

Until next time
Take care and God Bless.

Pucker Up Buttercup

I am back with a cutie of an image from Inky Impressions for our new Challenge "Someone Special".  Well, this little lady monster looks like she's ready for her special someone for sure with her string of hearts and "Pucker Up Buttercup" sentiment.  : )

I used some paper from my stash and I hate to admit it is from a paper pack from 2009, Basic Grey, Lemonade.  It even came with the stickers for the sentiment.  I think we should be proud of me as I have been really getting into my stash and using it up.  "Still a lot to go"..  LOL
I colored the image "Monster Stringing Hearts" with my Copic Markers.  Sure is a cute monster.
The oval was cut with Spellbinders dies, Scalloped Ovals.
This was a rather simple card, but a nice one for the occasion.

So, Girls and guys, don't just sit there.....  get Scrappin' to make it Happin' over at Inky Impressions Challenge and you could be our next winner of 4 Digi Stamps from the shop.  That is an awesome prize!!  You will definitely have a hard time choosing.

New News..... New Card

Hi everyone and I am so very glad to be back, after nursing a really bad shoulder for a month, doing what I love, making cards, but first I have some great news to share.  I have been asked to be a Design Team Member for Through the Purple Haze!!!!

 TTPH

You have got to come visit and see all of the awesome cards that are made by some really great talented team mates!!!!  It is really a fun place and I know you will enjoy visiting and entering our challenges.   So let's get going here!!

Since I have been off for a month I really enjoyed making this card. So here is the materials I have used and a little about how it was done.

I started with a 12x6 piece of white cardstock and cut the heart with my Zing cutter in the front of the card.
I used the dotted Pattern paper from a 6x6 Pad, Dots and Stripes by Echo Park and cut the heart shape in that also, but fussy cut after tracing the original heart to be sure it would line up exactly.
The heart trims, front and back of the heart, was cut from 2 doilies.  The small hearts were parts of the doily also.
The image is from Sassy Studio Designs and she is "Fire Pole Girl SSD 628". She is a real cutie!!!
I printed the image twice, but the second one was a mirror image so they would match when I put them on the spinner cord, which is monofilament fishing line, and I colored them with my Copic Markers.
I used my Xyron to run the images through and put the monfilament line exactly center from top to bottom and also put the line between the dotted paper and the white cardstock being sure they were centered also so she would turn.  (Be sure to use good adhesive tape to secure line if you should make a spinner.)
I then cut some flames, 4 sets also, so when I put them on the inner strip they would also line up and match exactly.
I glued the other end of the strip on the inside of my card with the sentiment.
Added some flowers from my stash and that was the finishing touch.

I will say, this took some time because of it being a spinner and having to line up exactly all the pieces so when you looked at the front of the card you would only see the Firehouse Girl on the pole.  Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

You really need to check out our awesome sponsors shop Sassy Studio DesignsYou will just want to get all the digis....  kind of like potato chips, you can't have just one.  LOL

                                                       Sassy Studio Designs
So now it's your turn to start creating a card to post in our Challenge #27 - Love is in the Air and you could  be the lucky winner of 4 free images from our generous sponsor.

Best Friends

Hi my friends, here is my creation for Challenges 4 Everybody, February Challenge and I wonder what this little cutie is thinking.   I think she is thinking about her best friend or maybe just looking out the window waiting for her to arrive.  Anyway, she is a cutie and was provided by our sponsor The Paper Nest.

I started with some cardstock and patterned paper from my stash .   Yay me! I have really been doing good using up some of my stash.  I really need to make room to put my new paper..  lol ... new stash!
I colored the image from The Paper Nest with my Copic Markers and added a few tiny rhinestones to the flowers, but they are not showing up really good in the picture. :(
I punched the stamped sentiment with Stampin' Up's, Artisan and Label Punch.
I cut the border strip with a Martha Stewart Punch and added a little double bow made with some seam binding.  Oh, and the butterfly was just laying on my desk waiting to be used.  I really don't know where he came from.... just fluttered by!

Well, I am glad you stopped by to visit and hope to see you again real soon!!

Now it's time for you to get your card entered and join in the the fun!  And you can win a $25.00 Gift Voucher to The Paper Nest.  Now that is what I call one fantastic, great, awesome prize!!!!
