I Miss You

Hi all of my blogland friends, so happy to have you visiting again.  This is my post for Challenges 4 Everybody Challenge 30 and I decided to do a little different card and why ???? I decided to do one that is very time consuming because I knew this was the week I would be out of town for a few days, but.....  Duh,  yes I am a blonde, I am old, and I guess I like challenges.  ; )   But I had the image colored, some of the ribbon looped, so there really wasn't too much to complete when I got back.  I hope you like my creation and hope you leave me some comments because you are where I get much of my inspiration.  So here it is:

I think the image is adorable.  She is from our generous sponsor Sherri Baldy, Scrapbook Stamp Society, and she is called Millie Mae

I think she's a real cutie and the sentiment I used inside the card was "I Miss You" and thought she was perfect.

All the ribbon and the flowers are from my stash.
The solid background cardstock is from Coredinations
The Patterned paper is from Basic Grey 6x6 pack, Fiction
The image was colored with my Copics

And for the Awesome News!!!
The winner will receive 5 images!!!  How awesome is that?

Sending You A Bear Hug!!

Hi, I am back once again with a post for Sunshine Mail and I think this is the cutest Polar Bear ever!!   I love the smile he has, just looks like you could just give him a big hug back.  So here we go....

This cute image is from Whimsy Stamps, Chilly Bear and may I say he looks quite chilly with the snow falling on him.  ;)

I used background cardstock from my stash.
The Chilly Bear digi I fussy cut and popped him up.
For the icebergs I used some clouds from my MTC Gallery and pulled them in what I thought was iceberg shapes ;) cut them on my Zing and popped them up on different levels.
The large snowflakes were cut with a Spellbinders Die from Diamond Dust paper, so there is no loose glitter.
The snow on the Bear's back was done with Tulip Puffy Paint.
The small snow flakes were done with a Martha Stewart Border punch and I just used the little flakes that were punched out.
The sentiment ovals were also done with Spellbinder die.
I just touched the icebergs with a Copic Marker to add a little frozen look.
It really is a "cool" card, just hard to get all to photograph.

So this is my post for The Sunshine Mail Children and hope you join in and send a card too!!  Check out the site by clicking on the highlighted link above and you will see just how happy you can make a child by just sending a card.  There are other ways to donate if you're not a crafter and hope you check it out.

Thanks for visiting today and hope you come back soon.

Until next time,
Take care and God Bless

Joanie

You're Sew Special

Whoop!  Whoop!!  Here is my first post as a new DT member for Challenges 4 Everybody.  I so excited to be a part of the team, the girls are fabulous, and out leader Amelia is "Awesome"!!   So here goes with my first creation and I will follow with all the materials used.

I decided to do a side step card and really like it when it was finished.  It took quite some time for all the little embellishments and coloring, but when all was done I think it looks pretty darn cute.  ;)

So here goes with all the materials used.
I used Bugaboo Stamps digi "Sewing SB Measuring" which I thought was just the cutest!
The 6x6 paper used is Echo Park, For the Record 2
The border punch Tim Holtz, Alterations, Sewing Edge
Image and border colored with Copic Markers
Seam binding, buttons, pins and thread are from my stash.
The Zig-Zag design was done with a stamp from Sassafras Lass, ONLY because after I completed the card I realized I had forgotten to sew the design.  I mean, the sewing machine is sitting next to me, just waiting to sew... oh, well, I bet if I wasn't so honest no one would have noticed.  LOL

So that is my first post and I hope you enjoyed being here as much as I like you to visit.  Please come back often as there is always lots going on here.  ;)

So until next time,
Take Care and God Bless
Hugs
Joanie

Before leaving I have one important message for all my family and friends.

Sharing Special Cards With You

This post is a little long as I am posting some Special Request cards made for Sunshine Mail children, so get your favorite drink or a cup of coffee and sit back and have a look.  Hopefully, this will inspire you to send a card too.  ; )

I am posting a few cards, well, 4 really, that were Special Requests for children at Sunshine Mail.  This is so awesome that we can send a card to put a smile on a child's face.  This is the story behind each card.

The first card is for Veronica a special 10 year old happy child despite everything she goes through (blood transfusion every 3 weeks) and she loves horses and her favorite color is pink.  Well, I don't do animals, but I got on a hunt and found a site "Coloring Book Pages for Children" and there was a horse.

I thought a step card would be cute as she can stand it up and be able to look at him without opening the card and touch him to make him trot as he is on a wobble. It really works great too.. you know I had to play with it to make sure it worked.  ; )

Black Beauty  - is from Raising Our Kids, and yes, I know I colored him brown because I thought it would brighten the card and besides (I don't do black very well)  :)
So my apologies to Black Beauty.
The cardstock is from my stash as well as the buttons.
The Burlap Flowers are from Spare Parts.
Used a Wobble and he really trots pretty good.  I hope Veronica gets a big smile when she gets the card.

The Second Card is for Leilani a special 3 year old, she has had 20 surgeries, and spends lots of time in the hospital.  She loves to dance and her favorite colors are Pink and Purple and loves Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses, and My Little Pony.
Well, I liked "Dance" one of her favorites, so Leilani lets Dance with Minnie.

I decided to put Minnie Mouse in a swing card so she can twirl around and do a dance for Leilani.  All of the material used are out of my stash.  I hope she smiles and does a dance with Minnie.  : )

The third little girl is Ava and she is  6 years old.  She loves stickers and likes to do crafty projects and make pictures.  Well, "Crafty", now we're talking.  So I did a really crafty card using:

My Crafty Girl stamp from Fresh Brewed Designs and colored it with my Copic Markers.  I popped up layers to give it some depth and added all the "stickers" or tags I had on hand to give it a really crafty look for Ava.  I hope this gets a big smile from her.

And last but not least is Kylie, a 6 year old who loves to draw, and her favorite animals are penguins and sled dogs.  Oh, my, here I go hunting again.  I have lots of stamps and digis, but you know, I have never had the need for a penguin or a sled dog.  But I found one.  So he's popped up on some ice cubes cut from my MTC Gallery and cut out the snowflake with my new Spellbinders Die, the background is a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder.  Do you agree he's cool?  I hope Kylie is cool with this card.  ;)

I have had such an exciting week, but I am not finished yet!  :)  I have decided to make a card for The Paper Shelter DT Call and also enter the Challenge.  They really have some adorable digis and I have quite a few new and old. I would really love to be on their design team.  Here's my card and I'll tell you all about it in a few.

Red frame - Sizzix Embossing Folder

Well, I guess that's about it on the materials.

So off I go to get my entry in.

I will begin my term October 1st, but will be keeping you posted for sure.

Okay, I am posting my creation today for My Besties Challenge, Sherri Baldy, Anything But A Card,  so I used something a little different and will tell you more in a few...

I looked around my scraproom and opened a drawer and lo' and behold there were the muslin gift bags I forgot I had.. :)  I guess you call it "stash?".  lol   They were the perfect gift card (credit card) size, so there was my inspiration.  Woo Hoo!!  I used My Bestie Image 2764, a real cutie and colored her with my Copic Markers, the little roses are from my stash, "sent to me by my dear friend, Yolie, my Link Up for Pink boss ;) <3",   I used a Spellbinder die to cut out her image, tied a yellow ribbon to the gift card holder and there is my "Anything but a Card".  I hope you think it's cute and if so, leave me some blog love.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you come back often to visit, after all y'all are like family.  ;)

So until next time,
