Now, I would like to tell everyone just how "Awesome" she is. Three years ago I posted and entry on a blog and won a prize. I noticed when I went to her blog she had a site "Link Up for Pink", so I decided to check it out and it was a blog that was just starting and I decided to join in to support those fighting the battle of Breast Cancer.
I just want to say I am so happy our paths have crossed and I have a very wonderful friend.
Here's her story of how Link Up for Pink got it's start.
It started with an idea of hosting a
blog hop, but instead I realized it would be best to host a linking party; an
opportunity for all to share their pink projects, share their stories, build a
strong community and most importantly bring awareness to breast cancer. When I
brought this idea to a friend, she immediately responded, “Let’s do it”.
As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but it should not start or end in October, we should always be aware. Remember to do your self-breast exams, send reminder cards to your friends to get their mammograms, and accompany a friend to their appointment. Somehow, some way we have known someone who has battled this terrible disease; some have fought a good fight, but unfortunately, some lost the battle. We lost my brother-in-law Kevin, Dulce’s daddy to cancer. My husband lost his grandmother to breast cancer and his Mom, my mother-in-law, Pat is in remission!
Link Up for Pink has a Relay for Life page. I am proud to announce we are one of the three virtual Relay for Life groups and the first ever blog event to be recognized by the American Cancer Society. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please click on the badge below.
As we take this journey together, let us take the time to celebrate life, live for today and remember the lives of the women and men no longer with us.
Thank you.
